The third Congress of joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS) took place in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Five days of remarkable sessions, impressive talks and lively discussions lie behind the 1600 participants from more than 70 countries. As part of the organising societies and executive committee, EFCNI had the honour to organise, chair and co-chair a pre-course, several parallel sessions and symposia. In addition, EFCNI launched the brand new European Standards of Care for Newborn Health Toolkit “Shaping the future”, the position paper on RSV “Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in preterm and ill infants “ and our position paper “Addressing the nutritional emergency of preterm birth – Optimal practice in neonatal parenteral nutrition “. All in all a very busy but also very rewarding congress! We would like to thank all speakers for their great contributions, all attendees for their active participation, our co-organising societies UENPS and ESPR and MCA for the great support.
