In April 2019, Diana Gamulescu and Adina Clapa from the Romanian association Asociatia Prematurilor spent two days at the hospitals of “Kliniken Dritter Orden gGmbH” in Munich and Passau to visit the Parents, Baby and Family Centres. Vivere Onlus composed a song for parents with babies at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our Italian partner organisation Vivere onlus composed a song “io ti aspetto lo stesso”, to raise awareness for preterm birth. Psychological workshop for parents of preterm babies in Turkey
In 2018, our Turkish Partner Parent Organisation El Bebek gül Bebek conducted an online questionnaire with 500 parents of preterm born babies to gain more insight about their psychological state of mind. The outcome confirmed the previously gained experiences: 80% of mothers felt responsible that their baby was born preterm, making guilt the main feeling that parents experience. First Romanian follow-up centre for preterm children
One in 10 babies in Romania is born to soon. However, there are no public facilities that offer integrated follow-up and care to continuously monitor the babies after long hospitalisation. In 2018, Asociatia Prematurilor opened a Centre of Excellence in Prematurity in Bucharest, featuring free interdisciplinary evaluation services for preterm babies and their families.
